A Challenge For YOU.

I just thought I'd stop by and say hello to my blog.

"Hello Blog."

Have a cheery day my dear friends.
I hope these random, oh so random, photos make your day.
Or possibly change your life.

Probably not... But you can always hope, right?

Yeah. I love photography. And life. And work... OH wait. Not really.
But I gotta work today, and work is work.
And money is money.
And I am LUCKY to have a job...
Why do I have to be so lucky?

My tongue sticks out to you who don't have to work for anything.
Whether your parents give it to you, or it's just handed to you.
Karma BITES.
So I can't wait till you get out into the real world and have to do something besides sit on your butts.

CHALLENGE OF THE DAY/WEEK/MONTH:
Depending on how often you go out to eat

The next person who helps you in a fast food restaurant, or drive thru, or food place,
BE KIND. Try and make their day. Smile, say please, say thank you, be kind!!
Because people are people too.

Off to life I go. Where it'll take me? I dunno!

Whatever you call whatever I've been doing.

So yeah. My life is pretty much amaaazing. At least I choose to think so. I love being a Viking so much I could die. Dramatic? Yes. True? Basically. You only get to be in high school once. So I might as well live.it.up. Mhmm.

This week was Homecoming week. And what a blast. Whitewashing the V had to be rescheduled, but it'll be a blast when it comes. More on that when it actually happens.
I've started my internship at Bountiful High, where I help teach her beginning dance class.
SO. MUCH. FUN.
I then go back to Viewmont and help Bon teach her beginning dance class. So every other day, I'm dancing 3 hours a day. And the other days I am just doing one Advanced Dance class. Such a blast. Dancing is one of the greatest things in life.

I was also in the Homecoming Parade. Being an FBLA--Future Business Leader of America-- officer is just too awesome. We're going to a conference in October that should pretty much rock. So below are me and my awesome fellow Vikings, getting our float ready for the parade.
[I'm in the middle with the red sweatshirt.]
Thennnnn. Went to the homecoming game. I screamed EVERY. MINUTE. of the game.
Lost my voice. And unfortunately, we lost the game by one freaking touchdown.... So upset. But such a fun game. Layton High sucks. That's all there is to it.

Then. Stayed at the school till 2 am decorating for Homecoming. Fun experience I guess. And went back at 9 am to finish.. Bleh.
Hah. THEN. Get this, I got asked to Homecoming THE MORNING OF. It was the most hilarious and chill thing ever. I went with my friend Haus (I'll post pictures when he gets them to me). What a blast. That kid is hilarious. And drove the most beautiful Audi I've ever seen. Or been in.
Below are pictures of me getting ready.

I'm a dork :)

Sexy n sophisticated.

So yeah.. I totally used my prom dress from last year. Kinda lame, I know. But what am I supposed to do with less than 12 hours notice?!
Yep. Fun fun experience. I dance like a crazy person (: I love it. I can be a tad over the top... I still love it. Hah.

So I feel like this post was really cliche and average high schooler. But it's me. :) It's what I do, it's who I am. I am livin' up Senior year. Mm baby. It's too great.

Also been doing homework and reading and working and all that crap. Still looking for a new job. I've applied three or four different places.. I need money. But I also need to get out of my crappy job where I am too stressed for words and it is honestly the worst job ever.

Anyways, love to all. Happy Monday tomorrow! Hope y'all get through it and make your day an awesome day, as well as other people's days around you awesome, because of you.
xoxo
Laurs.

This is the cutest blog (:

I love this blog.
I adore it. It really is all about the little things.
Click and read. I know you'll enjoy (:

Here are some of my favorite, little things about life:

Small towns.
Jumping in the white lines on the crosswalk.
Having a picnic in a tree.
Big, floppy hats.
Crocheted blankets.
Friends you can laugh with.
Friends you can cry with.
Yellow flowers.
Getting letters in the mail.
Falling asleep to the sound of a baseball game.
Eating raw cookie dough.
Singing off key, in the shower, or in the car.
Finishing a book that you hated at the beginning, but love at the end.
Using big words.
Dressing like it's the 80s.
Being me.

Day Nineteen. Free Write.

Oh how lovely! I love this. Today I went to the library and I just went book crazy. I love to read! Here is my reading list for this next week. It is going to be a lovely Labor Day Weekend up at our friend's cabin. Splendid.

Mmm. I can't wait to get crackin on these books.
But first off, I'm going to go running!
Get a fresh start.

Whether it's take a drive with your best friend and the windows down, have a chat with someone you don't know very well over ice cream, make a happy playlist on your ipod and go for a walk, paint --even if you aren't very artistic, bake a pie.

Go do something! Live your life. Get off this computer and stop feeling crappy.
Be the person you want to be.

"To change one's life: Start immediately. Do it flamboyantly. No exceptions." William James

My love to all. :) Start off fresh.

Day Seventeen. Something I've Created.

My walls (:

Okay, so I didn't exactly 'create' them. But I did them all by myself with one freaking sponge. It took all day. And I was 11.
But ain't it awesome?
So yes, there's my creation. :)

Today was a great day. I got a new phone :) :) :) Yes yes yes. His name is Gelato.
May Ghetto rest in peace.
I love weekends. But real life starts again on Monday. :( How unfortunate.
Much love. Laura.

It slides out with a keyboard (: I love you Gelato!

Life.

Wow. Live life to the fullest.

Excuse me.. Uhm. Summer?

Where did you go summer?
Tonight I told a complete stranger I thought he was attractive. Because, well, he was.
He was a RED HEAD. Red heads are wondrous. Absolutely. Ask my best friend in Texas, he's a redhead.
I'm praying for you Logan. Love you!
I love redheads.
Tonight I went to the fair!
Speaking of red heads. I went with my lovely friend from work. Her name is Andrea and she is a riot. She is super cute and just so much fun to be with. We get along very well. She was super motivational on my quest to tell the attractive boy with red hair that I thought he was cute. (I may have said he was attractive. The moment passed me by so quickly.)
I then bought this amazing ring from a handmade jewelry boutique. I love unique jewelry. Beauty, such beauty.
Andrea is fluent in Spanish, so she told me what they were saying when they weren't speaking to us. Good thing they weren't plotting anything iniquitous. Anyways, love the ring. --Don't mind my unpolished nails. Not much of a polisher myself.
We then ate deep fried Oreos. The most unhealthy thing I have ever eaten. [Debatable].
Topped off with powdered shuga. Mm baby. Probably gave me a potential heart attack in one bite.
I'm pretty sure it was worth it.
Rides were super expensive. But it was still great fun. We watched a rock band competition with different "bands". Unfortunately the 'Lady Killers' [after which we named them the DBB -D bag band- won the contest. Wretched. But mirthful nonetheless.
So yeah, it was a super great night. Marvelous way to spend the last Saturday of the summer.
For sure.

I can't believe summer is coming to an end. It's sad.
It's reminds me of that song by my favorite band [Well, in the top 3].
Go listen to it here.
It's all bout growing up and moving on.
I will rock my senior year.
I will make the most of it.
I will make new friends, and keep old ones.
I will live life like nobody's business.

You never know when it'll be your last chance to tell a redhead you think they're cute.

My love to all. Laura.

My #1

Bucket List. This is my number one. To see this. Or something like it. It's beautiful, isn't it?

Wonders to Behold.

Upon it's arrival, this weekend brought me something magnificent. My first shooting star. My dear friend Elise couldn't imagine that I was seeing my first shooting star at 17 years young, but indeed, I did.
I overheard [Okay, so facebook told me] that there was to be a meteor shower this week.

When I first saw it --posted on the lovely Sloan's status-- I began to think of the universe. It has always blown my mind.
We are so small, this life is microscopic compared to the many worlds out there. I believe in so many other worlds; in the life of others.

Strictly speaking, I believe in God. I don't know how one couldn't. This picture below [however dramatic it may be] is a shooting star. To create something as beautiful and wondrous as that, is beyond me.
Lately I have so much I want to say, but I feel like I post much too often. The 30 Day Challenge piece is feeling more like a chore than feeling like my lovely blogging. But it is fun, ain't it?
Anywho.
I'm just going to keep on posting here frequently, you don't have to read it all, or even any of it.
It's just good to get out.
Ya know?

Lots of love. Out into the universe. Laur.

Loving these.

Don't even ask why, because I'm not even sure. But I am just loving these photos.

*P.S. I don't take credit for any of these. All credit goes to the people who took the pictures. Just fyi.*

"I used to say to myself 'What the devil have you got to be proud of, Marilyn Monroe?' and I'd answer 'Everything, everything.'"

I wish I was one of them. Cute little tutus and all.

What a wondeful thought for a tattoo. I do like.

Creepy, I know. But it's slightly thrilling. I almost wish I was her.

I love.

Definitely going to remember this for next summer.

Photography is so beautiful. I'm obsessed. But right now I should sleep. More later. Loves.

Addict.

Addiction. Click that link! This dance is incredible. And definitely portrays what I want to blog about right now; Saying goodbye and addiction. They kinda go hand in hand.

How do you know when to say goodbye?

A few weeks ago, I said goodbye to one of my best friends. He knew me better than a lot of people in this world know me. I keep asking myself why I said goodbye.

I needed to. To grow as a person. To learn how to become happy on my own. To separate myself from the lies. To get out of a dramatic place; A place of deceit. A never ending cycle of being lost.

When someone you love hurts you, it kills. It truly does. So does saying goodbye mean I don't forgive? Of course not. I need to take care of myself, and that is how I'm doing it. I separate myself, I take care of myself and get my head on straight.

I'm assuming that when you are reading this, you are thinking of someone in your own life. Who is either hurting you physically, emotionally, mentally. Saying goodbye doesn't mean you don't love them, you can still love them. But take some space for yourself. Take care of who you are.

Whether it's a bad habit, a hurtful person, drugs, whatever; Better yourself. Become the person you want and get rid of whatever it is keeping you down. Unaddict yourself.

Become the person you have always wanted.
Saying goodbye is hard. But once you get past the hard part, it's like a breath of fresh air.
Sigh.
This has been a hard blog to write. Part of me feels like highlighting it all, and pressing back space.
But no.
I am gonna press 'publish post'.
Sigh.

My love to you all. Laura.

Wanting.

This ring. Wow. Beautiful. Marriage? Hmm. In a few years ;) Ha.

The hat. Who wouldn't want a floppy sun hat?

Have you ever seen more of a necklace that has Laura in it? No. Nor have I.

Just the one of her books that I've read. I want her collection. I want them all.

Holy.

Cute eh?

You know what I'm wanting MOST?!

Laur.

Music. Life. Whatever.

Click. Here. Now.
Seriously. I bought The Maine's new album yesterday. I'm obsessed. Listening to it right now actually. Aaaaamazing.
Also, yesterday my lovely Asian friend, Ali, and I went through her itunes and burnt three CDs of awesome music. Anberlin, We Shot The Moon, Sherwood, The Fold, Cartel, All Time Low, and much other good stuff.

You guys, this is some good hearins. Check them out!

I love the smell of Barnes and Noble. [If you don't know what that is, I feel sorry for you. It's a bookstore.]
It smells like books and air conditioning. I love just sitting in there and breathing deeply. I love the quiet feeling of it, but at the same time you don't have to whisper. I went there yesterday and read Seventeen magazine.
Seventeen Magazine: Definitely my guilty pleasure. I'm obsessed, but it's embarrassing. Ha.

Anyways. New music, love it :) Good smells, love it.

Got my nails done yesterday. I walk in: The smell, I hate that smell. Four ladies getting pedicures, but me and Al were walk ins. So I figured it was going to be a long wait. Two men come out of no where and start doing our nails!! What the? How many Asians are there? Ha. Okay. Cool. Me and Al start watching 'Days of our Lives' because there isn't really anything else holding our attention. That show is so dramatic and funny. Hahaha. Weird that people can watch that with a straight face.

Yeah. It was a good adventure.
Life is an adventure. Live it.
Dream it up.

Oo. For my next blog I have a good idea about letting go of people you need to in life.
I'll keep you posted.
Laura.
