Jus' Some Thoughts Real Quick

I LOVE GETTING LETTERS.
Wow. Missionaries are THE greatest. My brother just gave me some advice via snail mail that I wish he'd given me a long time ago. It would have saved me a lot of pain and heartbreak.
My brother is growing up so much, he is so funny, and so smart.
He promises me so much for the future. He is my best friend.
Look at him and his Brazilian comp! Cute.

Also Logan has been sending me some awesome pictures. Some awesome letters too. :) That red head is the best.

So yeah, the missionaries sound AWESOME. :] I can't wait till they get home. They are so important in my life.

What else? OH. Got my ACT score back. My grade point average also went up. And Laaaaaurrrra is gettting a schhholarshiiiip. 600 bucks baby. And that's ONLY THE BEGINNING. [I hope.]
Hm. Now that I have updated on crappy school stuff...

Not much else to say. Still dancing. Oh. Which reminds me.

Yesterday my family and I went and visited my great grandma. She is 103, and she is a HOOT. She makes me laugh my head off. I told her I am going to school and doing lots of dance and she said: "Oo!! That makes us friends!!" She used to dance and all that jazz :] She is beautiful and I think every person in this world can learn something from her. I am so blessed and privileged to know her and to have her as a part of this life. It feels like having a piece of my grandma with me.

I know the Lord is blessing my life every day. I have the greatest people I could ask for.

Oo. Guess what. Ali Boo is coming home for Thanksgiving. Yessssssss. I have missed her more than you can imagine. I can't WAIT to catch up.

To finish up here is a random outfit update ;) [I can't remember if I uploaded this one yet, if I did, bear with me. I have had many more fabulous outfits since this one, just haven't had the time to take pictures.]

So there you go. Oh man, and I bought this spectacular purple, vintage dress from a thrift store for 6 bucks, belted it, good. as. new.
I'll have to take some pictures of that as well.

K. I must be going now. I need to sleeeeep. Unfortunately.
Wouldn't it be great if I didn't need sleep?

K. xoxo Lots of love.

I Miss Him...

So much I could cry. Approx. 414 days left.

Look how cute he is!! All the way in Brazil :)

Man. I miss this right here. ^^ I think about him every day and his emails always make me cry. He is the best brother in the world.

xoxo. Boss.

the 26th day of October

Okay. Here goes my worthwhile attempt at a somewhat decent post. It's been a while, I know.

Today, I wore the 50s long, white socks with the red keds and the rolled up skinnies. [The skinny jeans aren't in the picture because I changed for dance.] LOVED IT.

Each morning I wake up and say
"What era am I gonna be today?"
Fashion: Love. Simple as that.

Dance. Mmm. Been dancing A LOT. Getting pretty dang good. At least I feel the improvement.

It. Is. Autumn.
Everywhere I go I yell "IT'S AUTMUN." I did twice today in the Walmart parking lot. Pumkins and orange leafed trees. That results in me screaming.

Also...
It sleeted today, I wouldn't call it snow quite yet, but it's certainly getting there.
How unfortunate.

Today is my sweet little sister's birthday. She is turning 8.
8-year-olds are the bomb. Here is a picture of her and I [along with our other sister Carly on the left, Elly is on the right.] The little goofball has a blue mouth from her ring pop.
I bought her polka dotted rain boots!

Mmk. What else to update on? OH. I have a crush. On a boy. He's a cutie. Haha. That is all that you will be able to pry out of me. But it's just a crush, nothing more.

Logan. My wonderful redheaded missionary. We have been writing 4 page letters every week for a while now (yes, front and back). He is great. I LOVE getting letters. Look at this ADORABLE picture of him. Mmm.

The Harvest Dance was pretty dang fun. I was Barbie and Danny boy was Ken. We were STYLIN. Cutest couple there for sure ;)
Also went with Elise and her date.

Here's us girls decked out in Barbie attire. --Eyelashes.. Whew mama.

So yeah. Then I've just had school and work and shopping and sleeping and eating. Ha. I haven't done much of the sleeping or shopping. But a tad. Oo. And I got this GREAT vintage hat at Forever21. It's black and totally Audrey Hepburn. Next time I wear it, pictures will be posted.

That is life. It's hectic and crazy, but for the most part, I'm really enjoying it.

Maybe, Just Maybe

I'm falling in love.

Folks, I think I've hopped on the love train.

Who knew you could fall in love through letters??

-xoxo.

P.S. Sorry, I haven't updated much. Just I've had SO much to share, but at the same time, so little.

accomplishments in my small little world.

The fact that I am wearing a black shirt in the picture below is most likely meaningless to everyone on the planet. Except for me. The significance of this shirt: I am now a supervisor at the place of my employment. [Okay, getting a raise is great too!!]

I feel like I work in a dead end job.

But a job, is a job. And there are so many people out there, grown adults as well, looking and hoping and wanting a job, any job, even my job.

I am so grateful for income. And my job truly isn't that bad.
I'm also trying out this whole "attitude of gratitude" thing. How's it working out for me?
P.S. Don't mind my work hair.

I would also like to express how grateful I am for comfortable clothes. Comfortable clothing is SO UNDERRATED.

Pants all the way from Georgia, ACDC tee shirt, and my dorky glasses. I feel so much better. Barefoot of course. (Again, please don't mind the work hair.)

Life seems so hopeful in some moments. Although I'm trying my best, I'm making mistakes too. [I definitely have my fair share of them so far, and many more to come, I'm sure.]
But I feel like I learn and grow every day.

The past few weeks I've loved..

visits from old friends.
comments on my blog.
the smell of my dad when I hug him.
when I photoshop a picture.
pictures from the missionaries.
saying exactly the right thing, at exactly the right time, to exactly the right person.
watching karma bite people in the butt.
emails just saying a friendly hello.
wearing my favorite bra, newly washed.
THE FEELING OF GETTING OVER THE STOMACH FLU. Yes.
having the perfect ratio of m&ms and chex mix in my mouth.
being a peacemaker.
imaginary games with my little sisters.
believing I can.
telling someone no.
my brother testifying to me that miracles are real.
finding things to love.

Life has been okay. Ups and downs, but that is life.
Love to all.
Laura.

Truly, this is the Life of A Laura.

I've been lacking motivation to blog lately..
I, the Laura, who blogs just about every day, has not felt up to it.
I'm such a blog addict.. Two days seems like an e t e r n i t y. So. I've decided to upload some photos about my life lately.

Strawberry oatmeal, calcium pill, fluids.
This has been my life the past week.
The first cold of the season is not doing me any favors.

I often become infatuated with certain foods for a certain amount of time. Right now it just happens to be strawberry oatmeal. The time before was apples. And before that it was pretzels. Mmm.
But eventually I move on. Yuuum.

I got letters from both of my lovely missionaries yesterday. Much, much needed.

My brother wrote my family and sadly enough, he is forgetting English. Weird.. There were a few times in his letter where he obviously had to look in his translating dictionary to find the right word. He used words like "unavoidable" and falsified".
That is just not my brother I tell you. [He's in Brazil for those of you who don't know.]
And also, he dreams in Portuguese. So strange to me. I adore that boy and miss him greatly.

And then Logan is getting transferred, I'm so happy for him :) He is doing well and loving his experiences. He's an amazing example to me, and always fills his letters with stories that make me laugh out loud.

Well, this has been a slightly successful post. I do love you blog, my dear. I hope this cold goes away fast. Or faster than fast. I feel blleeehck.

I'm trying to enjoy life right now.. Take a step back and take life slower, I don't always have to be in a rush, you know?

Laura.

I. Am. Craving.

A letter from one of the missionaries.
Please, please, please?

I miss them, and I miss them bad. I need two of my best friends in my life..

One is Logan, in Texas.
Redhead, true to the Phillies and Eagles.
His favorite color is green.
He loves food, working out, and he is amazing at basketball.
He was also my first kiss.. Ha.

He is really funny and super easy to talk to.
Always there for me.
And then Andrew.
He is in Brazil.
My brother. My best friend. He has known me my whole life.
And I've known him my whole life.
He loves sports and video games, and he has a heart of gold.
He is always there to listen, and he is such a boss.

"Missionary: someone who leaves their family for 2 years so that others can be with their family for eternity."

Love you bosses.
Big hugs and kisses.

Love, Laura.

Day Seven. A Picture of You and Your Closest Friend.

This was hard to choose because I have quite a few close friends. But this is probably the person who knows me best in this whole world. My brother, Andrew. Definitely my closest friend.
I love you bud. Boss it.

P.S. Yeah.. I cheated. I did this a day ahead. Because on MY computer, it's technically Day 7. K? :) Hah.

Tears.

I have 5 best friends.
And tonight I said goodbye to the third one of them. Andrew and Logan are on missions.
And now Ali is off to Indiana for college.
Sloan and Con with be leaving this Saturday.
I just parked in the bank parking lot and cried.

I'm not very good at goodbyes.
This girl is so sweet and so cute. She knows be better than a lot of people.
And I love her so much.
I don't remember crying like this since my brother left.
Goodbyes just aren't my thing...

I love you Al! I always will.
We'll be together soon..

Too much crying tonight. Love.
Laura

P.S. So much for dieting alll freaking day. I ended up with a 64 oz Dr. Pepper to undo my whole day of good/no eating. Sigh. Better luck next time.
